Aspartate Aminotransferase
An enzyme found in the liver but also in muscle and heart. Mild elevations often track with liver-cell stress (commonly fatty liver), but vigorous exercise or muscle injury can raise it too. Usually interpreted alongside ALT.
This page is general wellness education, not medical advice. Your own lab’s reference range and your clinician’s interpretation always take precedence.
